Yesterday was a particularly sunny day in Florida, and Lucy and I LOVE to soak up the Florida sun! I found a great vintage handkerchief a while ago and I just had to have it because of the bright colors, I just could never find the right thing for Lucy to wear with it besides a white romper, and then.... I went to an estate sale and found this fabulous PRINTED LINEN!!! Ahhh!! I had to have it, and at $2 for like 5 yards it was a steal! I finally decided yesterday what I was going to make with it- a pint-sized baby peplum top!! It was incredibly simple, I just took a bodice and skirt pattern that I already had on hand , sewed the bodice like normal, and then cut the skirt wayyyyy short, and instead of basting stitches to fit the skirt to the bodice, I did some pleats, along with a small pleat at the neckline to fit it a little more to her body (she is as skinny as a rail, just like her daddy!)- so without further ado, here's the ootd!!
Headband- vintage handkerchief
Top- handsewn peplum
Pants- Target
Shoes- Rocawear ballet flats- which are sooooo great because they actually STAY ON her feet and she can't rip them off- plus they're really feminine and sweet!
